It’s out! Tiny Pencil issue IV the ‘Death & Resurrection’ issue features stunning cover art from artist Allison Sommers. For this latest issue of Tiny Pencil I created a uniquely personal drawing entitled ‘Return’.
It’s a graphite powder and pencil drawing which spans a double page in depths of sunlit flowers and dark summer shadows. People who pre-order will receive a packet of postcards which also includes one tiny yet charming postcard of ‘Return’. I couldn’t be any prouder to be a part of this project yet again.
As the last snows fell this year (2013), I was given the honour of submitting two pages to Tiny Pencil Issue No.1. One page featured my drawing entitled “Inevitability”, the second page featured a drawing entitled “Fruited”. My hope was that both would create a lush detailed textural impression upon which to linger.
Together Katriona Chapman and Amber Hsu along with a bevy of extremely talented ‘graphite specialists’ have managed to celebrate the pencil arts exclusively with Tiny Pencil and the first issue featuring cover art by Nick Sheehy.
Along with my drawings I also did an interview for Tiny Pencil which they put together beautifully. It bears the flattering title of “The allegorical surrealism of graphite virtuoso Rachel M. Bray” and Broken Frontier featured Tiny Pencil No.1 in "Into the Wood We Go".
